About Me
Y V Rao is a graduate in Chemical Engineering (B.Tech) from Andhra University having 33+ years of experience in the field of manufacturing Polyester and Nylon Yarns.
Rao Engineering Consultancy provides services and support for all phases of project concept, study, planning, design, selection of machinery, civil construction, detailed engineering, erection and commissioning of Polyester and Nylon Yarn manufacturing Plants set up (POY/FDY/DTY).
CORE COMPETENCIES:
- Managing all the Plant operations for manufacturing of POY/FDY/DTY for Polyester and Nylon Yarns.
- Manufacturing of POY/FDY through Extruder spinning and through Direct spinning(CP) for Polyester Yarns.
- Set up of New Plants starting from Business Plan till commissioning for manufacturing of POY/FDY/DTY (Polyester and Nylon).
- Process Optimization in Polymer Chips/POY/FDY/DTY manufacturing.
- Manufacturing of specialty products like various Dope dyed yarns, Full Dull yarns using master batch chips, cationic semi dull & cationic full dull yarns, bi-shrinkage yarns, Air texturizing yarns, NSY yarns, Micro filament yarns, Roto yarns and Lycra yarns.
- Project Coordination for the installation and commissioning of four new spinning lines from M/s Barmag, Germany with new generation ACW Take up winders for manufacturing of Polyester POY/FDY in M/s Well-known Polyester Limited, Daman.
- Project Management for the installation and commissioning of 10 New Aallidhra DTY machines in M/s Modern Poly Industries Limited, Bangladesh
- New plants installation and commissioning for POY/FDY/DTY (Polyester and Nylon).
- Quality Control and Process Control in Polymer Chips/POY/FDY/DTY manufacturing.
- Trouble shooting/Problem solving methods in Polymer Chips/POY/FDY/DTY manufacturing.
- Customer Technical Services in Polymer chips/POY/FDY/DTY/ manufacturing and in the downstream processes of Warping/Warp knitting/Circular knitting/Twisting/Weaving.
- Project Coordination for the installation and commissioning of 2 New POY lines and 3 New FDY lines from M/s TMT, Japan in Bhilosa Industries Private Limited, Silvassa.
- Project management for the installation and commissioning of two new TMT POY lines and two new Barmag Wings POY lines and one New Barmag Wings Plus FDY line in M/s Modern Poly Industries Limited, Bangladesh.
Current Projects Being Implemented:
1. Installation and commissioning of New Barmag POY lines in Iran
2. New Nylon FDY Plant set up in India :
Handling all phases of this project starting from Market study, feasibility study, estimation of cost of project, selection of land, selection of technology, selection of machinery, Basic Engineering, detailed engineering, civil construction, Auxiliary equipment’s, Utility equipment’s and laboratory equipment’s design and selection, installation and commissioning.
3 New Polyester POY/FDY/DTY plant set up in Bangladesh :
Handling all phases of the project.
WORK EXPERIENCE SUMMARY:
Started his career as a Production Shift Superintendent in leading manufacturer of Polyester and Nylon Yarns in India.
Worked for 17 years in this first company and could get opportunities to work in manufacturing of Nylon LOY, POY, DTY, DT, cops rewinders, TFO and manufacturing of Polyester MOY, POY, DTY, DT, cops rewinder and TFO. Well versed with Process control, process optimization, continuous improvement approach, customer orientation, Bench marking, importance of consistency in quality product and customer delight to meet business goals, maintaining the international standards of quality
For the past 16 years, working as a plant head for managing all manufacturing activities of Polyester and Nylon yarns (POY/FDY/DTY) in India and Abroad. Four POY/FDY/DTY projects started in different plants, the manufacturing plants supplied by world leaders, Barmag, TMT and Beijing Chon glee. Handled overall project of Barmag latest version of Wings winder in POY and wings plus winders in FDY.
Presently, working in two Polyester yarn manufacturing projects for POY/FDY/DTY and in one Nylon FDY manufacturing project.
